Christopher Columbus Facts

What are the facts about Christopher Columbus?

What are the myths?

What is the Columbus' real importance in history?

Here is a video to get you started.  Please keep in mind that there is controversy over what the true facts and myths are regarding Christopher Columbus.  When teaching about such controversial topics, I believe it is important to help students understand that not everything they read or hear is a fact.  How do we determine facts from myths?  This can be an entire unit in and of itself; however, it really should be at the surface of every topic requiring research and discovery of information.
